The ACN Guide
ACN has just released its guide to safe remote work. Since the start of this health crisis, remote work has become essential in the fight against COVID-19. It is estimated that 230 billion euros have been saved through the use of remote work. Although the number of workers engaging in remote work has declined slightly since the beginning of 2021, this way of working has become the new norm. Numerous studies indicate that remote workers wish to continue this practice well beyond the crisis we are currently facing.
The goal is to be able to perform one’s job as closely as possible to how it would be done in the office. This requires access to one’s data and business applications, as well as the ability to share, communicate, and collaborate using digital tools. Furthermore, 69% of executives currently say that the ability to work remotely is an important factor in their job search.
To meet all these needs and ensure complete confidence in remote work, companies must adapt accordingly.
To enable employees to work remotely while maintaining a high level of security. This widespread adoption and the various methods of remote access to the information system poses new risks that must be mitigated. This requires adapting and rethinking security processes for cloud environments and data flows (a 630% increase in cloud attacks between January and April 2020).
The targets of the attacks

These attacks do not stop at services, servers, or providers. They cascade down to all the infrastructure used by these services. The widespread adoption of remote work has highlighted a significant vulnerability to perimeter attacks. Attackers now prefer to target remote workers rather than the company’s IT systems.
One of the top priorities in the coming years will be to develop solutions to enhance security across the entire digital chain. The use of solutions, products, or services that offer a high level of trust would enable businesses of all sizes to secure the various components necessary for secure remote work.
To address these challenges, our country possesses unparalleled expertise in this field. Remote work and the rise in cyberattacks are the changes having the greatest impact on businesses during the health crisis. It is therefore urgent to strike a balance between securing our digital space and protecting our national sovereignty and/or our strategic autonomy within Europe.
